Using a very fine needle, BOTOX® is injected into the facial muscle. Their is minimal pain. Over the next 3-7 days Botox begins working to stop facial movement.
Depending on whether you have mild, or moderate to severe wrinkles, the amount of Botox units injected is an individual preference.

As with all procedures, the results may vary based on how many units are injected and your desired outcome.
The amount of Botox needed will always vary from person to person.
What is pre-juvenation?
Many patients begin injections at a relatively early age as to prevent deeper wrinkle formation. That is pre-juvenation.
It is very common to begin Botox treatments in your late 20’s as to prevent deep wrinkle formation. Think prevention!
How does Botox® Work?
The objective of Botox is to freeze the underlying muscle.
By doing so, when that muscle tries to contract, the neurotoxin will prevent it from wrinkling.
Does Botox hurt?
We try to make the treatment as comfortable as possible for you. We use very thin 32 gauge needles to inject the appropriate amount of the Botox neurotoxin to the specific areas of your facial anatomy.
It’s no more than a small pinch. Your treatment will be comfortable and take as little as 15 minutes.
What will I look like right after Botox?
Immediately after Botox you may notice little raised dots. These will dissipate very quickly.
Over the coming days, typically 7-10 days, you will notice your results reveal themselves – lines becoming smoother, and an overall refreshed, rejuvenated and wrinkle free appearance!

How Long Does Botox® Last?
Botox® and its effects can last anywhere from 3-4 months. Most people repeat the treatment every 4 months to maintain their wrinkle-free appearance.
The results of Botox® Cosmetic are best with regular and continued treatments over time.

What Results Should I Expect?
A Botox® Cosmetic treatment can give you a more youthful appearance by smoothing out the dynamic wrinkles.
Static wrinkles that are due to aging and sun damaged skin will not be affected as they are not caused by facial expressions.
Botox® does not tighten skin or replace the need for laser resurfacing or a facelift. Botox injections area often used in conjunction with other procedures, such as laser collagen stimulation, laser resurfacing or collagen injections, for a combined effect. We do offer all these services as well.
As each persons needs are unique, the amount of Botox units needed in an area to freeze the muscle may vary from person to person.
Results are not immediate. It usually takes three to five days to notice a reduction in muscle activity and up to 2 weeks for a full effect.
Is Botox® safe?
Botox® Cosmetic treatments have been used over the years to safely and effectively treat many muscular diseases as well as wrinkles. Only those muscles injected have temporary weakness.
There have been no reports of permanent damage caused by the injection of Botox®. Local bruise at the site of injection or slight drop of the eyelid are usually temporary side effects in some cases.
In general, the use of Botox® has proved to be safe.
Thousands of patients receive Botox® every year and it has become a popular treatment for reversing the signs of aging.

Frequently Asked Questions About Botox®
Botox prevents the muscle from contracting therefore wrinkles can not be formed when you make a facial expression.
Botox is generally not used under the eye area. It works great for crows feet though!

The younger generation has starting using Botox in their late 20s as a preventative treatment for wrinkles. Starting early reduces the muscle contractions from getting stronger and deeper as you age.
You should not exercise for 24 hours. And you should not lie down for 4-6 hours.
No, you should not lie down for 4 hours. The Botox needs to settle in the injection site. Laying down may cause the Botox to migrate.
Botox® can be used to treat a variety of facial features, including eyes, forehead creases, eyebrow lines and lifts, and the corners of your mouth.

The most common side effect is temporary bruising at one or more of the injection sites. This can be covered with make-up.
On occasion, the Botox® can migrate (leak) into nearby muscles, causing temporary weakness. There are rare cases of drooping of an eyelid or asymmetry of facial expression.
The chance of experiencing a side effect depends which muscles are injected. Any side effect is temporary, as the effects of Botox® are completely reversible.
Your wrinkles will not look worse or make you look older than what your natural aging appearance would have been had you not started Botox treatments.
Botox injections can be placed at the ends of the eyebrows to help relax those muscles.
A Botox brow lift is a type of procedure that treats frown lines between your brows and it can also elevates the height of your eyebrow.
We recommend avoiding alcohol the day of treatment as it can increase bruising.
